Description
PYRIDOXAL-5-PHOSPHATE
100 capsules
1 tablet contains:
50 mg pyridoxal phosphate (P5P)
Effect:
Pyridoxal phosphate is an organic chemical compound that is the active form of vitamin B6. In the body, it acts as a coenzyme necessary for the action of enzymes responsible for the metabolism of amino acids.
In the liver, pyridoxal phosphate is an important factor in glucose production. In red blood cells, it is responsible for the synthesis of hemoglobin and the regulation of oxygen affinity. Moreover, it influences the susceptibility of cells to steroid hormones. In turn, in the nervous system, P5P is needed for the synthesis of many neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopine, taurine, norepinephrine, histamine, and GABA. Many experiments and clinical studies have proven that dietary vitamin B6 is necessary for the proper functioning of the nervous system.
Together with folic acid and vitamin B12, P5P is involved in carbon metabolism and is necessary in maintaining normal homocysteine levels in blood plasma.
Application:
Pyridoxal phosphate (vitamin B6) deficiency can lead to many conditions and diseases such as:
- dysfunctions of the nervous system (depression, apathy, insomnia, neuritis, convulsions)
- weakening of the immune system
- diseases of the cardiovascular system
